I made it!!!!!!!!!!

I made it - a two day plane ride - but I made it to Hong Kong! Woooaaahhhhh what a long ride!

My Aunt met me and my Grandpa at the Hong Kong Airport then we took a doubledecker bus to her house which is actually an apartment. Most of the 3.82 million people here live in apartments some are only 7 floors and others are as high as 50 floors. Kids, like me, go to the playground to play because they have no backyard.

Just in case you don't know Hong Kong is actually a special region of China. On July 1, 1997 (Hong Kong Day) Hong Kong became a special part of China, after a 150 years of being governed by the British.

On my first day here I went on a wooden sailing ship, called a Chinese 'Junk' - The name of 'Junk' I went on is called the Duk Ling (http://www.dukling.com.hk/). The Duk Ling is a sailing 'Junk' with a high front and high back to prevent water from waves from getting in the ship.

The 'Junk' sailed around Hong Kong harbor where I saw cruise ships being pulled by tugboats, smaller 'Junks' used by fisherman, freight ships and even boats with HUGE cranes dumping dirt in the harbor to make more land!

This place is WICKED busy! People are everywhere, they even drive on the wrong side of the road and speak Chinese. Some people speak English to me but most smile at me and say "Ni Hao" which is Chinese for 'Hello' and I say back "Ni Hao" and they laugh because they are surprised that I can speak Chinese to them.
